Toshiba has used many different screw lengths for their LCD televisions. You will have to check your owner's manual for the correct length for your model. It will be a metric screw, probably 8mm in diameter, although some models use a larger 10mm screw. You do not want to guess at these dimensions. Too short, and the TV could fall off the wall. Too long, and the screw could damage the circuit boards or display panel inside the housing.

Because of liability concerns, most manufacturers do not provide specifications on the size of screws or mounting instructions for their televisions. Virtually all TV wall mounts come with a large assortment of screws to fit all TVs with standard VESA mounts. A 42-inch TV will use a M6 (6mm metric) or M8 (8mm metric) screw. The mount will have these screws in various lengths. When you get the mount, use the longest screw possible that you can tighten by hand to hold the bracket to the back of the TV. Do not over-tighten, as you may damage circuit boards or even the LCD panel itself.
M8 (8 mm) x 15mm should work with these TV's. Make sure you use the spacers for the wall mounts if your TV was supplied with them.
There are specific screws that should used when installing a TV onto wall mount brackets. These screws are much longer than typical screws and can be bought at Ace's.
You can create your own mounting bracktes from sheet metal and nail or screw them into the wall. Alternatively, mount or purchase a fixture to mount to tubing to, and hang the mount on the wall.
