Running the bases will help. Run to first, then jog back, run through second and jog back and so on. There is another drill where you sprint through each base, in a straight line then jog to the fence in back (most successful when done in sets of five). Doing sit-ups and push-ups will help to strengthen your core. Doing shuttle runs will also help you strengthen your core as well as helping with a change of direction while running.
