What speed should a pentium 4 have?

Answer:What speed should a P4 have?

It depends on the Operating System you use. I once tried to install Windows 98SE on a P4 and that would not work because the P4 was too fast. If the OS is no problem than you'll want a P4 as fast as possible to have any performance compared to modern CPUs. You can better invest in an ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 of 60$ with the cheapest Core2Duo CPU, as the Asrock Mobo will be able to use your old AGP video card and will swallow your old DDR-1 memory as well. Later, when you have more money, it will allow a PCI-e card and DDR-2 memory as well.
