The "park" was created by executive order in December 1974 as a National Recreation Area and subsequently renamed to Cuyahoga Valley National Park (From Cuyahoga Valley National recreation Area) the new name took effect in 2000.

The Cuyahoga River is located in Northeast Ohio in the United States. Outside of Ohio, the river is most famous for being "the river that caught fire", helping to spur the environmental movement in the late 1960s. Native Americans called this winding water "Cuyahoga," which means "crooked river" in the Iroquois language.
There are two national parks located in the state of Nevada. They are Great Basin National Park and Death Valley National Park.
