Galileo didn't actually invent the telescope, though he was one of the first to use it for astronomical observations. At the time he constructed his first telescopes, he was teaching at the University of Padua in Italy.
The basic tool that Galileo used was a crude refracting telescope. His initial version only magnified 8x but was soon refined to the 20x magnification he used for his observations for Sidereus nuncius. It had a convex objective lens and a concave eyepiece in a long tube. The main problem with his telescopes was their very narrow field of view, typically about half the width of the Moon.
One of Galileo's telescopes. The focal length is 1330 mm with a 26 mm aperture, it magnifies 14x. It has an objective bi-convex lens and a plano-concave eyepiece.
Galileo made his own telescopes and the type of telescope was a Galilean refractor. A refractor is a telescope with a convex object lens with a long focal length equal to approximately the same length as the telescope tube. It does not use a mirror.
In the Galilean refractor the eye lens at the lower end of the tube is a concave lens. This arrangement is not used now because of its poor field of view.
Galileos telescope was a refracting telescope with around 10 times magnification but then improved his scope to 30 times magnification.

No, it is told that Leonard Digges did, but Galileo did invent one of the first telescopes, but his had the best and he was the first one to have his telescope with the best magnification.

Galileo helped to invent the telescope.

His dad inspired him to make a telescope.
He invented the reflecting telescope. Galileo was the first to use the telescope for studies of the heavens.
No, but Hans Lipperhey invented the telescope in 1690.
