copper's melting point is 1,083°C and its boiling point is 2,595°C

just for fun

A coin is usually, made of copper or a copper alloy.

But the question was what temperature does it burn at - I'd like to know too - when copper is molten it's surface emits a blue flame, which is presumably burning copper, this happens as soon as it melts.

What happens when red hot copper is dropped in water?

Dropping a chunk of red hot copper in water will create a big hiss and the emission of steam from the container. The thermal energy of the copper will be transferred to the metal. The copper metal will cool rapidly and become brittle. If a copper wire is heated to a high temperature and quenched (cooled rapidly by immersion), it will harden and become less flexible than it was.

Why does a red star shine red?

Stars emit light because they are hot. When a hot object glows the color of light it emits depends on the temperature. The higher the temperature, the shorter the wavelength of light. The shortest wavelength of visible light is red Therefore the stars with the lowest temperature glow red.
