What the F does F-CK mean? |
[Improve]
It is the slang term for having sex, and is considered very vulgar.
The word F*CK has been around since the 15th century. According to the alt.usage.English FAQ:
The Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang (Random House, 1994, ISBN
It would seem to come from the German word, ficken, meaning to strike. A related word is the Middle Dutch, focken, which means much the same. The same word in French is "foutre", so it seems there is a common root somewhere, perhaps in the Latin word, futuere, or the Latin word Facere which means to make or do.
Others have claimed it is a corruption of the word "fecund", which means fruitful.
There are some who claim it stands for "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge", but this is a myth. Basically it means to have sex with someone. But it is also used in many other ways * An angry exclamation.
* If something is broken.
* Telling someone to go away.
* As an adjective when you are angry about something. * ... and many other ways. It is a very old and very versatile word. But it is not used in polite conversation.
