Homogenous Generally a homogenous networks is made up of computer from the same vendor or compatible equipment that all run unde rthe same OS or network operating system.

Heterogenous networks are obviously more common because most companies purchae there equipment from a variety of vendors

Both heterogeneous and homogeneous are types of mixtures. Homogeneous is a type of mixture that is uniform and constant. Heterogeneous is the opposite since it is not uniform and the individual components can be seen and separated physically.

If something is homogenous, the substance looks the same throughout. For example the substance water looks the same.

If something is heterogenous, the substance doesnt look the same throughout. You can find different things inside it. For example Hot Chocolate with marshmellows. This is heterogenous because you can identify the marshmellows in it. It has 2 things together.
