It all depends on the person doing the inspection. My inspector is very picky-no hand prints on the walls, no toys kids are playing with in the floor. She likes it to look like a new model home-no one living here. Some general things they look for are. Cleanliness in general. Carpets cleaned. Everything in safe working order. Stove and oven works and clean, fridge works and clean, all lights work (replace burned out bulbs) toilets work, windows all lock and no peeling paint, nothing blocking windows (at least one accessible window per bedroom), smoke detector working, paint is not peeling, nothing stored with the water heater and it is functioning, no leaks in the Plumbing.
