Strokes, defined as intracranial bleeding from a ruptured blood vessel in or around the brain, is actually fairly rare in dogs. However, signs of a stroke or other sudden-onset neurologic problem would include difficulty or inability to walk, abnormal gait or motions, uncontrolled muscle contractions such as spasms or facial tics, sudden changes in personality (becoming very depressed and withdrawn or reacting aggressively to non-threatening stimuli), loss of bladder or sphincter control, etc.
Regardless of the cause, if you see a dog having problems like this you need to get it to a veterinarian immediately for examination and treatment. The faster treatment can be started, the better the prognosis (although sometimes there is nothing you can do about it).
I depends on how bad the affects of the stroke are. If you and your vet think the dog will still have a good quality of life then OK but if not it may be kinder to put your dog to sleep.
you had better make an Emergency call to the vets! it will need urgent attention!
