It can be a challenge to find the time to finish all of your Christmas cards. If you are sending cards out to multiple people, we suggest creating a couple of sentences that you can include in cards to friends and family. These sentences can be warm holiday greetings, updates on your family, a mention of your favorite charity...share something of importance. You may also want to include a photo of you and yours, your pets, your garden...something that holds special meaning to you.

Best wishes and a wonderful holiday season!

You can write many different things. A few things to make sure to say are "Merry Christmas" or "Hope you have a wonderful holiday" and "wishing you all the best for the new year to come". Then add something personal, like why you chose the gift or a special holiday wish you have for them.

Oh, and make sure you call her shnookums, honey pie, sweetums...etc etc.. All things nice and tasty, because it's Christmas time and hey, apparently that's where you get to eat lots of tasty things! DO NOT write someone else's name in it...if you wish the festive season to remain festive..

Example:

Imagine your girlfriend is called Marjory.

Don't start your letter off with,

"Dear Rebecca, or Girlfriend #2"

That just won't cut it.

Something like,

"Dearest Marjory baby, sweetypie, cupcake, gummy bear, schnookums*"

would be better. Or just don't even address the card. Heck, just give her an empty card!

*a personal favourite

If you feel the need to tell her about your pet goat, and how he ate your left shoe, go for it. As your girlfriend, she'll be super excited to share this life-changing event with you.

Make sure that you sign it off with lots of hugs and kisses, and smiley faces, and love hearts, and really lovey dovey things. Or, alternatively, you could just write -Frank, your boyfriend, ;). Just don't let on that your younger sister wrote the card for you - so make sure that her name doesn't appear at the end! Apparently girls like it when you do things, not get someone else to do them for you.. It'll make you look like a total romantic badass!

So pretty much. Write on that card. Have fun with it, if you want. Be traditional, if you want. Just be you.

I would personally keep it simple and non-creepy. Make it something genius like "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"

If you have an inside joke with this girl, write or draw something that may gently remind her of that to make her laugh or at least smile.

Anything you want!! Handwritten Christmas cards are meant to be personalized, each with their own special touch. Go ahead! Write what you want! Just be sure to remember the true meaning of Christmas when you do.

I always find it pleasant to write something as follows:

Dear [Specific person and family, or family, depending on whether you are most friendly with one member, or if they are family friends]

[Personalised message (see below)]

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

(Love) from

[Your name]

The personalised message could be something which resolves a conflict between you and them, or it may be a short, simple rhyming couplet. Perhaps a Christmas related joke would also add personality to the card. These things are gratefully received as they show that you have put specific thought into the card. I also hope that you have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!!
