A paleontologist uses items such as:
shovels
chisels
picks
brushes to brush away dirt
drills
magnifying glass
computers
fancy machinery to find out the age of the fossil, time period, calcium levels
Water to rinse the dirt off after you've brushed it would be useful too.
they use many different types it seems you might have to know one, or look it up in a book since i cant find their machinary, besides computers and scannner thingys. ha! sorry.

Hi!
I just found your question!
Haha... We use a variety of different tools; to name a few: We use Geological Hammers, Chisels, Puddy knifes, and ofcourse eye protection, helmet, steel toed boots, gloves, and sometimes a reflective vest (depends where we are opperating).
And we also do alot on computers; We use computers (Sometimes laptops in the field), Microscopes, and cameras.
Hope this helps!
-An array of hammers, mainly the standard Geological hammer.
-Measuring tools such as calipers.
-Chisels.
-Laptops, 3d computer software.
-microscopes, Stereo and compound, mainly stereo.
-cleaning tools, such as air scribes, dental picks, brush's.
-Hand magnifiers, Lupe's.
-Cameras, or drawing skills.
-Journals/logbooks to document Field studies and important discoveries.
-Small containers (vials) for smaller specimens.
-Field guides.
-GPS system.
-White glue mainly for invertebrate specimens in the matrix (white glue because it is water soluble, you can remove it when you would like), and plaster for casting bones.
-Backpacks.
-Light chemicals such as vinegar, for small chemical tests (i.e. Testing for calcite)
-First aid kit (Safety is always number one- Put your safety before the fossil)
-Putty knifes, or screwdrivers (for shale and other soft, easily split sedimentary rocks)
What are some tools that scientist use to find fossils???????? Well they.....
they use plastic bags and shovels and brush magnifing glass ect.
A hammer/wooden mallet and a pick and brush
Shovels and brushes.
Recording fossils No.
They use the study of relative dating etc...
microscope
Absolutely nothing.
the rock and the fossils are made out of lava stuff
bacon
What tools did scientists use to look in to elements before they had the right kind of tools
Scientists use mainly fossils.
Recording fossils No.
they use artifacts and fossils from the past
The new tools given them by molecular genetics have been more helpful than fossils and modern morphological consideration to track the evolutionary procession of species.
they use tools to a piece of evidence so it can help them
Trilobites were rapidly evolving and widespread organisms, making them ideal index fossils.
a satelite
i donot
telescopes because they are meant to look into space
They use the study of relative dating etc...
