What education do you need to become an exotic animal veterinarian?

You start the same way every veterinarian does - by completing the pre-requisite courses in undergraduate college, then completing the curriculum at an accredited school of veterinary medicine. You need to go to a Veterinary School with Exotic Animal Program. To be able to become a Veterinarian for exotic animals, take a number of pre-veterinary courses at an undergraduate institution. Be part of clubs, honor societies or other establishments at your school. Any vet college will take about 4 years unless you are training to be a vet-tech.
