The term estate agent is used in the UK while in the US one would say real estate agent or Realtor.

Depending on where one wants to conduct their business the educational options and possible requirements will vary by country or even by state.

In the UK there is no license required so there is no specific training. Call yourself an estate agent and you are one. Best to ask a firm you want to work for what they do when taking on new staff.

If you are in the US then you need to find a program for passing the state licensing exam that is specific to the state. Further training after you have a license may be suggested by the brokerage you join or based on programs recommended by other agents.
