Dependes on the severity of the break. A break that shows definite abnormalities in the structure of the ankle should be treated with a hard cast. However, a minor break can be treated with an Aircast. (new person) it depends. With my ankle break I was in a soft cast after surgery then a hard cast. Then a walking boot I could not walk on and then I was allowed to walk on it.
Bone in the hand broken and when they are put together will join itself by self healing method unless it is multiple fracture. to keep this broken bones put near to each other for joining need a cast called plaster of Paris cast just to immobilise the area from disintegrate itself. Normally POP it is referred as in medical terms
God save you from broken bones
If you have a broken finger you can go to the doctor, but it is hard to put a cast on a finger. You just need to keep your finger relaxed and try not to bump it or use it as little as possilbe. You can rap tap around the and another finger to help keep it stable and hopefully within time it will heal.
Usually, an aluminum sabot and a KoBan wrap will do. For more extreme cases with multiple fractures, a hand cast may be needed.
This joint is called a hinge joint
Fracture of olecranon process is one type of fracture of ulna. You have many other parts of bones to be fractured in fracture of ulna.
Metacarpophalangeal joint. A condyloid type of joint.
The thumb is made up of two phalanges (one distal phalanx and one proximal phalanx), and one metacarpal. At the "visible base" of the thumb, or where the thumb seems to enter the hand, there is a condyloid synovial joint, which involves the articulation of the proximal phalanx on the first metacarpal. The TRUE base of the thumb is where the first metacarpal articulates with the trapezium (a carpal bone of the hand). This joint is a saddle-type synovial joint.
they could do a three view mandibule, ct is much better for any facial bones though
The base of the thumb, the first phalanx, makes a joint with a carpal bone called the trapezium, and the two articulate in a special joint called a saddle joint. You only have tow of these in your body, one at the base of each thumb.

When someone has fractured a rib or a hip, roll them into the recovery position on the fractured side. This will push the broken bones back into place. Also, if a femur has been fractured, the legs are generally bound from the feet up. I hope this helps :D

Acute Injuries
n orthopedic cast that covers the trunk cranially to the nipple line, one leg caudally as far as the toes, and the other leg caudally as far as the knee. For stability, a diagonal crossbar connects the parts of the cast encasing the legs. This type of cast is used for immobilization during healing of a fractured femur or after surgical hip repair or for correction and maintenance of the correction of a hip deformity.
