Electromagnets. And the description isn't quite correct; wrap an insulated wire many turns AROUND an iron core or rod. THe more turns, the stronger the magnet. Bell wire coiled around a large nail makes a great science project to demonstrate the phenomenon of electromagnetism.

What is the definition of trans-stimulation?

Trans-stimulation is a procedure used to depolarize the neurons in the brain. Electromagnetic is used to weaken the electrical currents that are currently running through the human brain.

Are permanent magnets only attracted to other permanent magnets?

No, they are attracted to: Other permanent magnets Solenoids Iron Wires with current running through them

What types of magnets are produced by running electric current through a solf iron core?

Nothing is produced just by putting electric current through a soft iron core. It needs wire to be be wound around it in a certain fashion, then it may produce direct current.

What functions does the flywheel have on the 3.5 hp Briggs and stratton engine?

Pulling the engine's start cord turns the flywheel. The flywheel has a magnet or magnets on it that create electrical charge as the flywheel turns, causing them to pass other magnets. The electrical charge travels to the spark plug and starts the engine. Once the engine is running, the inertia created by the flywheel's turning has enough momentum to keep the engine's crankshaft turning between the piston's power strokes. During operation, the flywheel's magnets also induce voltage in the armature to keep the spark plug firing. Those magnets are called a Magneto ignition.

Magnets that are made by wrapping wire around a metal rod and running electric current through the wire are called what kind of magnets?

Electromagnets.

What produces a magnetic field?

The outer electrons in a metallic bar all allign themselves within the bar to generate a single field with magnetic properties. The element, Iron, have this property but it is also seen in other metals in the Periodic Table.
