You can use any type of automotive paint you want. The key to a good fiberglass paint job is the preparation.
Sanding and filling the gelcoat is the hard part. If it isn't a new truck box, thorough cleaning to remove grease and dirt is essential. If it is new, you need to fully cure it as discussed below. When sanding the gelcoat, make sure not to sand through to the fiberglass (if you do, fill and resand.)
Select a primer designed for the paint you have selected.
Warning about dark colors: they will cause the fiberglass resin to cure and shrink. If you are going to use a dark color, you want to bake the box in direct sun for at least a week, rotating it to give all sides direct sunlight. A light coat of flat black paint (which you will sand off) may help with the curing. If you have access to a large oven, that's even better. Expect to have to adjust the fit of the parts to compensate for shrinkage.
A custom car shop that hangs and paints fiberglass bodies should know how to do the job right. Custom marine builders and repair shops should have plenty of experience painting fiberglass also.
Marine epoxy paint should be used on fibreglass.
Depending on the material used for the Hull, there are Gel Gloss Paints used for Fiberglass and composite boats and very good Acrylic Enamels and Urethane for sealed wood.
Urethane primers are not not compatible with gelcoat, nor are epoxy primers. Gelcoat can only be applied to bare fibreglass, existing (well sanded) gelcoat or polyester/vinylester based fillers.
take some vinegar and mix it in a bucket of water and use a rag to clean the outside... or you could put it in a spray bottle
Hi there, The best way to clean fiberglass is to use dry ice blasting.. This is often compared to sandblasting, but it's very different. Dry ice blasting (or cryogenic cleaning) is a revolutionary cleaning method in which dry ice pellets replace traditional cleaning materials. Dry ice blasting is quick & clean & generates no secondary waste material. The only waste to be disposed of is the material that is removed. The process is dry & non-conductive therefore is suitable for electronics and electric motors. Also in the case of fibreglass it is perfect as it will not affect the underlying surface as it is a non abrasive technology. Hope this helps?

A Trimaran is a boat with three hulls.
Fibreglass is best painted with a two part (twin pack) polyurethane paint.
I'm not certain about your specific model of boat, but on most fiberglass hulls, there is a rubber bump or rub rail above the waterline. If you pull off the rubber center piece, you will find either rivets or screws that will allow you to pry the hull apart once removed. Please note that I have seen info stating that some hulls may warp after removing the top, so this should probably only be done as a last resort.
A trimaran has 3 hulls, a main hull and two smaller outrigger hulls.
Boat hulls are currently usually made of fiber glass. Fiber glass is the cheapest, most effective material. Boat hulls can also be made of wood, carbon fiber, and steel.

A sponge and some fiberglass sealers works the best on a fiberglass boat. There are other fiberglass cleaning material available depending on what your particular need is. For just basic cleaning, I would go with the sponge and fiberglass sealer.
This type of boat is called a Catamaran.
