The Bella Coola people are a Nation not a tribe. The Nuxalk Nation lived in longhouses. Because they lived along the river the houses that were around flood areas were on stilts. Some houses could be taken apart and moved as families had hunting grounds and fishing grounds.
The tribes of the Pacific Northwest differed in food, dwellings, etc. according to their exact location. As far as housing/shelter, there were two basic types.

I think they use twigs and dried grass to make the huts or the roofs as shelters. The mud they put on keeps it sterdy and also puts them neatly together. They use a roof and shelter to survive in the past. Native Americans were the first people to arrive on America. ;)
