Fiberglass won't take stain. You need to get all the flaking paint off, scuff the surface and then paint with an enamel type paint. A yacht supply store will set you up.
The worst stain to get rid of would usually be blood.
Yes. Oil paint is an excellent coating for interior woods. A 100% acrylic paint would be better for an exterior wood finish though because it will hold up better to the sun and is able to withstand repeated freeze-thaw cycles without cracking peeling.
I agree with Charles. I would also sand the piece of wood with the stain a bit then apply the darker stain.
I would remove the stain from the entire piece (leg or top) and then carefully re-stain it properly.
There is a type of Krazy glue that comes with a brush in the lid, I would use that.
I have done this, I have sanded them down and then have put a primer paint on and then either stain them or paint them what ever color you would like in your kitchen.
You can try Cabot’s Natural Oak Stain Finish or whatever color you wish to apply. They have a variety of stain colors to choose from but depending on the original color of your furniture whether you want to use the same or stain it with an entirely different color which would be more laborious as you need to do a lot of sanding.
i would have a peeling nose.
There are several good companies for fiberglass pools. I would go with Blue Hawaiian Fiberglass Pools.
When looking to remodel or improve your home, one of the best ways that you could improve its appearance would be to refinish some existing wood in your home. Whether it is old hardwood floors, kitchen or bathroom cabinets, or even a back deck, refinishing the existing wood is affordable and will make it look much newer and better. While you could pay someone to refinish the wood for you, a better option would be to refinish the wood yourself. Refinishing would is easy even for novice craftsman. When looking to refinish the wood, the first thing that you need to do is sand the existing wood. Sanding the wood cabinet or floor planks will help to strip away old sealants, clean up any dings or scratches, and make the wood much smoother overall. If you are looking to sand cabinets, it would be a good idea to do it by hand. However, if you are going to refinish an entire room, it may be far easier to use a commercial sander, which could help you get an entire room done quite quickly. Once you have sanded the entire area, the next step is to apply a new finishing to the wood. You can purchase wood stain from any home improvement store and there are plenty of options to choose from. Depending on the color of the wood and the stain that you choose, you may have to apply multiple coats of wood stain to the wood until you get your final desired color. When applying the stain, be sure to use a fine brush and always apply in the same direction. This will help to give a smooth and even finish to the wood. Once the wood stain has dried and you have received the desired overall color, the next thing that you should do is apply some sealant. Sealant will help to keep the stain intact and will also help to protect the wood. You will need to apply one or two coats of sealant to the wood before it is ready to use again.
A fiberglass column would be lighter and would withstand the weathering a wood column would. Also fiberglass is not susceptible to termites nor do they need to be sealed as wood would.
Can I Sand & refinish LaminateNO, NO, & NO!Laminate is a printed picture of a floor and designed not to be absorbent, if you sand it, (probably would be impossible to get it uniform) the subsurface won't absorb the stain & you wouldn't have the strong finish laminate is known for either,,No NO & Not ever!!
I would go with fiberglass over marble. Marble is expensive so damage would be more costly and fiberglass isn't as hard if kids fall against it.
You would get the color grey
Plumbers normally do not refinish bathtubs, although in some cases they may. However, to get your bathtub refinished, you would want to find a company that specializes in refinishing/re-glazing bathtubs.
A sponge and some fiberglass sealers works the best on a fiberglass boat. There are other fiberglass cleaning material available depending on what your particular need is. For just basic cleaning, I would go with the sponge and fiberglass sealer.
It would depend on the construction of the craft, but as a general rule, the fiberglass boat will be heavier.
