Cedar The above answer is wrong. The most common trees for Christmas trees are firs. The varieties used depend on the continent, Europe using Silver Firs and Nordman Firs, and North America using Balsam and Fraser Firs. Spruce is also a pretty tree but very hard to decorate and loses its needles quicker.

They can be any type of tree, but is traditionally Pine trees such as White pine they can be Blue Spuce. So any type of Confirice is acceptable. However if you want to be really to be traditional then you can use the Cedar trees. Which is the firstChristmas tree. It is thought that the Christmas tree first came from Germany.
