You have two vaccines for polio. Sabin and Salk vaccine. Sabin is oral polio vaccine and Salk is inject-able polio vaccine. Dr Jonas Salk discovered and developed the FIRST polio vaccine. In a television interview Dr Jonas Salk answered that there is no patent to this vaccine.
