Some see the strangers who visited Abraham and Lot as angels, indeed many English translations of the Hebrew Bible use that word for them. However, the original Hebrew text uses the word, elohim, the Hebrew for gods. When these traditions were written down, they were not perceived to be angels, but gods.
The cherubim, such as those that guarded the path back to the Tree of Life and the images of cherubim that surrounded God's mercy seat in the Book of Exodus, were perceived as sphinx-like creatures with wings, similar to Mesopotamian depictions.
Described in Isaiah 6:2, seraphim were said to be part of God's retinue and it seems they were creatures of fire (seraph means 'burn'), with six wings.
Angels, such as we perceive today, were never mentioned in scriptures written before the Babylonian Exile. They were messengers of God and did not necessarily have wings. There are seven senior angels known as archangels. Jews appear to regard Satan as an angel. He is depicted in the Book of Job and in Jewish midrahim as the loyal assistant of God. Christians and Muslims also regard Satan as an angel, but one who has fallen from grace and is now an evil adversary of God.

There is no information in the Bible to suggest that one is assigned particular guardian angels at one's birth. Yes, angels do protect us, and particular types of angels have particular assignments, but there is nothing to substantiate the belief that people have specific individual guardian angels during their walk on earth.
Strictly Bible speaking, Fallen Angels answer to Lucifer, who in the Bible is considered the first Fallen Angel.
Acccording to Christian theology Angels do not have gender in the sense that humans do; therefore the angels of the Bible are not Male or Female.

There are very many different types of angels in the Bible; used by God for many different purposes, but I suppose thee are two main types: God's good angels, and the bad angels who follow Satan. But there are more good than bad, as the prophet said to his servant who saw angels And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha (2Kings 6.16,17)
