Parasitism:

When one organism benefits from harming another organism. For example, when a hawk keeps making a meal out of a nearby nest of mice. The hawk benefits from getting a free meal while the mice nest is drastically losing the population one by one.

Commensalism:

When both organisms live in harmony with each other neither harming or benefiting off of the other organism. For example, when two different species of dogs live very close together. Both species see no reason to harm a fellow brother so there is no need to create conflict between each other.

Mutualism:

When both organisms benefit off of each other. For example, when a bird (anything but a woodpecker) and a tree live together. The bird defends the tree from unwanted insects while the tree gives a free home to the bird. Both organisms benefit off of each other.
