As a young man, he was a captive of Judah in Babylon - King Nebuchadnezzar - probably became a eunuch and was known as 'Belteshazzar. Righteous in God's eyes, he interpreted dreams of the King and became prominent in the kingdom. He served King Cyrus who succeeded Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar who followed Cyrus ending with Darius the Mede.
