What was God's role in creating cavemen?

[Edit]

Answer

God created people in the beginning and people multiplied upon the earth. Cavemen came about later and so were descendants of the original humans, not some kind of half evolved, half intelligent ape man.

Young earth creationists, who follow the biblical view of world history believe that cave dwellers were quite possibly post Babel people who dispersed as a result of the confusion of languages. Since not every group of people had every form of technology, it is possible that the technology of building was lost for a time. The immediate need for shelter and protection from wild animals may also have necessitated cave-dwelling. There are numerous examples of loss of technological ability through history -we still don't really know how the Egyptians built the pyramids.

So, even though 'cavemen' undoubtedly existed, it is unlikely in the extreme that they were in any way genetically different from modern humans. They were merely descendants from the original humans God created through natural human procreation.
