An agora was a marketplace in which people would trade, own a buisness and could sell goods, products and slaves. The agora was possibly the most busiest part of any city as people would work and visit it everyday.

It can be therefore claimed that it was the birth of the city-state in Greece and the development of the Athenian Agora that led to the radical improvement of all sciences as well as to the economic cultural flourishing at the time. It is widely believed that the world today would be entirely different without this place of social gathering and communication.
