The women's clothing was much heavier than it is today. Women wore corsets to look smaller and stockings of heavy cotton ( nylon hadn't been invented yet). Skirts were long down to the ankle with shoes and slippers with long pointed toes. Hats were popular. The bigger the hat the better. Men wore suits with shirts and stiff starched collars/cuffs. Top hats were popular and bowlers. Pocket watches were worn with a vest that had a small pocket called a pocket watch pocket. Attached to the watch was a chain and watch fob and that went to another pocket across the vest.

In 1912, clothing styles were still basically Victorian. For women, this meant big, lacy dresses with long sleeves. Men wore fancy suits with hats.
