Actually, it was from September 28th to October 19th, 1781 in Virginia. George Washington commanded this battle. The French were on the Americans side against the british. There were approximately 8,800 Americans, 7,800 French and 6,000 British. It was important because the Americans won.

This was the battle where Cornwallis surrendered over 8,000 British troops to George Washington. It was also the battle that ended the Revolutionary War.
