When World War II ended in 1945, the United States embarked upon an unprecedented period of economic prosperity, driven by the increase in industrial production markets brought about by the war. Unlike the Great Depression and the war years, Americans had a surplus of goods and services from which to choose, and the money with which to purchase them. Non-farming businesses grew by one-third, and housing construction became a booming industry. However, the economic situation was not improved for the poorest Americans during this time. The economic boom brought high inflation, which kept poorer citizens from saving any money, and small farmers faced hard times because of government policies that benefitted larger, corporate farmers. The lowest-paid workers in the country were the migrant farm workers, with sales clerks and unskilled laborers (such as gas station attendants) not far above them. Happy, a sales clerk, and Biff, a farm worker, represent this segment of the American workforce in Death of a Salesman, and each of them struggles to retain his dignity in the face of his lowly position in a largely affluent society.
Well I asked my grandpa for you, he said that... Life back then was much more simple than today's standards-like schooling, how people dress and so on..., as soon as the war started everyone was in shock from pearl harbour still they as didnt expect the homefront to be attacked, aswell as millions of young men were shipped off into the Pacific (as my grandpa was) or Europe/Africa, rationing was in affect almost instantly, I can remember my father taking my brother wagon from him for the scrap drives. Also I grew up in new york/ New Jersey, and when there were blackouts you would never believe it, the whole city of new york was black, couldn't see a thing! Music was a big deal during the war as in boosting moral in America when it's men we're overseas. Any other questions you can email me at guyhelfrich@gmail.com
In the 1920's (A.K.A. The Roaring Twenties or The Jazz Age) there were flappers, and the Charlestion was the most popular dance. Prohibition, a ban of alcohal, started mafias and gangsters. Movies were popular and there were many new things like the radio, toaster, vacuum, and electric washer. It was a fun and exciting time. Life in the 1920's was a very happy decade for 8 years because in 1929 that's when the stockmarket crashed and the Great Depression began.
It was harder than life is now. Especially for woman. They did not have has much rights as they do now. Basically there whole life was to clean and take care of the family and house. But when the men were off at war, they usually took over the husbands home job until he returned.
In the 1940s life was fairly simple. Most women did not work out of the home and instead stayed home and took care of the household and children. Children had chores to do and respected their parents. Families ate dinner together and talked about their days. The Post Office offered twice a day mail delivery service.
The 1940's was a time of hardship. Most men were off to war and the women were left with nothing but a baby to take care of. This created the effects of women earning their place in the work force of the United States. The government also went through the entire "war bond" deal whenever the midst of the war hated up after America was attacked at Pearl Harbor, sending our military in to go to war. Alas, the later 1940's, after the war, became the most prosperous time for the United States. We won the war, morale was up, and the nuclear family image was born, which gave birth to the 50's.
Much of the world was already at war. Japan was busy with its own imperialist mission in the Far East. Although anger at Japan was evident in the world and in the United States, Americans wanted no part in the United States.
They had the inventions of the radio and television. It was a very safe time. And there where some bad parts to it.
The US was on a war footing during the 40's and 50's. WW2 in the 40's; The Korean War and the cold war in the 50's.
Surrealism still flourished here and there. The new thing in the 40s was Abstract Expressionism.

One obvious answer is that the 70s came 30 years after the 40s and the quality of the sound was quite different in both time periods. Just like songs from the 2000s have a better quality than the 70s, the 70s had a better quality of sound than the 40s.
Did WHO pitch at Andrews AFB in the late 40s
1,000,000,000,000s = 16,666,666,666m, 40s = 277,777,777h, 40m, 40s = 11,574,074d, 1h, 40m, 40s = 31,688y, 32d, 1h, 40m, 40s So assuming all that math is correct, one trillion seconds is about 31,688 years.
6s2 + 40s - 60 = 2(3s2 + 20s - 30)
