I had to walk home at lunch time, eat at home, then walk back. I had to wear a dress everyday. Pants were not allowed. We can were pants on the walk to and from school during cold weather only. After I finished public school from 1st to 7th grade the policy changed. Girls were allowed to wear pants at school!! See...living in NJ is rough!!

high socks.
If you said a bad word in those days was "shut up" your mouth would be washed out
