What was technology like in the 1970's?

Answer:

Computer Graphics were done with oscilloscopes (See Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). Computers were "green-screen" with sprite monochrome graphics. The major available and somewhat reasonably priced technology was a TI scientific calculator. Still a big advance over slide rules (still used in colleges in the late 70's).
