There were MANY. But one of the most devastating was in 1941 in Britain.

It was called the Battle of Britain. The German Luftwaffe was bombing the British main land to soften it up for an invasion. The British however fought back and if it wasn't for this the Allies may have not won the war. The invasion of Britain never came and the British and Allies go to win the war.

It was experimental and only 1 was built. Compare this to the B-36 jet bomber, built years later, that had a wingspan of 230 Ft- 0 In and Length 162 Ft- 1 in.
