Answer
Ken Bradshaw at Outer Log Cabins, Oahu, on 1-28-98. His wave was probably over 80 feet tall. Consensus among surfers at Log Cabins that day was that Ken's wave at about 11:30am was clearly the biggest wave of the day. There is no photo of his wave only some video shot from long distance, and the view was partly blocked by a smaller wave in front.
Some claim the Willis brothers rode even bigger waves, the same day, at Outer Sunset, Oahu, but no photos or witnesses to support that claim. That day at Jaws some surfers, including Laird Hamilton rode some waves 70 feet or taller and Buzzy Kerbox may have ridden the biggest wave at Jaws that day, since his wave broke closest to the channel.
