I think you may be thinking of the cartoon that evolved- without living characters- about the Little House ( not the Laura Ingalls Wilder Type) and it was like a sketch book the green grass grew all around and around and the green grass grew all around and in effect a housing development or park grows up around the house, clever use of time-lapse photos and sketches, done with story and song. The refrain about the Green Grass grew all around and around was in effect the song-story line. It was not too different- though really no plot or intelligent conclusion than some of the Buster Brown shoe ads- also using story and song. Harmless Kid stuff
