I just answered one similar to this but just for women. I am a guy from close to Chicago area and these were my high school days. Women seemed to dress in a Madonna-ish fashion but that was only part of it. Men and women wore jean jackets (which I don't see anymore) and bleached jeans...sometimes bleached to the point they had holes to flash the flesh.
Depending on what crowd you were in you might have short spiked hair if you were nerdy. Shaved head, or a high-and-tight if you were in sports. Of course there were plenty of heavy metal head- bangers with hair in extreme lengths wearing their Megadeth or Anthrax or Slayer t-shirts (see Beavis n Butthead).
If you spent a lot of time in art class or listening to Depeche Mode, you might be found in the year book with long-spiked hair, larger than your head (yearbook cameraman zoom out) and wearing lots of black leather with buckles, straps and other black appendages with metal fixtures clinking about. You could complete your 'tude with a set of combat boots and some Buddy Holly horn-rimmed glasses. One art girl who used to chase me around had a head like a mop. I don't recall any tattoos but there piercings in every social class, at least in the ears, as the saying went 'Left is right and right is wrong'
Earlier 80s I can only remember the simple t-shirts and blue jeans but there was a brief fad of wearing friendship beads on your shoes. There was a Michael Jackson accessory to be seen here and there... and peer pressure about your brand of high-tops. There was certain brand of red and black high tops that were sure to make you the Michael Jordan of the block.
Many people wore bright colors, tight pants, loose shirts, seqiuns, poka dots, neon, etc. Many people also had short hair! They thought that fun colors were really cool and out there.
Shoulder pads seems to stand out as one of the most interesting features of 80s fashion. Mini skirts, leg warmers, sleeveless gloves, stretch pants and parachute pants are a few more fashion items at the time.
the 80s are back. skinny jeans, chukie t's, graphic tee's
Basically the 80s, but more advanced and more technology.Music, fashion, electronics, cars, haircuts, etc were the same. The real 90s decade was from 1980-1999.Things changed when it got to 2000.Late 80s= Early 90sEarly 80s= Mid 90sMid 80s= Late 90s80s=90s90=80s
The Madonna look is an easy costume to make and even the make-up isn't hard. Try this website for information on how to become a "Madonna",http://www.80s-fashion-fancy-dress.com/wear-80s-party.html.
Two fashion trends in the 80s are neon colors and puffed shoulder jackets. Those trends are coming back for Fall 2009!!
No. Old fashioned only lead you out of the current world. If the fashion changes to the previous one like the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, etc., then you are not old fashioned.
in the 80s the hair styles were all big and quite curly :)
the 80s are back in fashion. skinny jeans are popular for both guys and girls.
lots of neon flair pants plaid shirts a lot of stuff that was popular then is what people are sporting 2day
old
I loved it!
For fashion, this is a hard one. 70s fashion seems to me (wasn't alive then) to be a somewhat mix between 60s hippie chic and 80s disco. Random fads? The Brady Bunch, pet rocks, Barbie.
