What was the first US published Reader's Digest condensed book?

[Edit]

i presently have a "Summer 1950 Selections" Reader's Digest Condensed Books. The stories featured are;

"THE WOODEN HORSE", "HOME TOWN", "VISIBILITY UNLIMITED", AND "THE WAY WEST".

My late Aunt Nellie Lorentzen supposedly had a complete collections from 1950 until she passed away in 2004. Mom says there are a couple missing but she believes they are in the 60's, not the earliest editions. I would love to know if we have the very first volumne printed in the US! It reads that it is in fact a First Edition, but many of the Reader's Digest condensed books are First Editions. Kathy F.
