Marx's most famous writing was his economic treatise "Das Kapital", as he titled it in his native German, or "Capital" in English. In it he outlined his views on capitalism and communism.

Also his "Communist Manifesto" (written with Fredrich Engels) is extremely important, as it outlines the entire theory of class struggle and the stages of history.

Opinion

Das Kapital had several versions. The last one was published after the death of Marx. By far The Communist Manifesto was his most famous book.

Marx wrote a heap of books, not just one or even a dozen. The ones he is most well-known for are The Communist Manifesto(written with Frederick Engels) and Capital, or Das Kapital in the original German.

IN my opinion it is "The Communist Manifesto." It has been describes as the most widely read pamphlet in history. Marx's enormous writing on economic theory, Das Kapital, is so dense and technical only the most dedicated economists can get through it.
