What was the outcome of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo?

Answer:
The Mexican War ended.

The US gave Mexico $15 million and assumed $3.25 million in debt owed by Mexico to US Citizens, but what they dont tell you in school is that in that treaty the US and Mexico agreed on more than just owning land. In that treaty it said that spanish would be the official language in these states that the Us took. It also said that catholic will be the official religion. Mexico also didn't want slavery in these states but US did so they agreed on no slaves. The last most important thing is that ALL MEXICANS will automatically have citizenship in these states... California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and others nearby. The reason they don't tell you this in school is because they don't want you to know. The presidents just happened to "forget" this important information. If you look up on any website they wont say this information. The only way I know is because my history teacher told me, he studied this in college and that's where he found out.
They say US is a free state.... ya right
