Tara was the name of the O'Hara plantation in Gone With The Wind. It is the most important thing to Scarlett, and is what partly drives her to make more money. Twelve Oaks is the Wilkes' plantation, and where the barbecue int the becoming of the book is held, and is burned to the ground during Sherman's March. Mimosa is the Fontaine plantation which faired the best after the Yankees went through the County again because Sally Fontaine saw them coming. Pine Bloom was the name of the Calgary plantation where Cathleen and her Yankee husband lived before he lost it. There are several more plantations whose names are mentioned in the book. Like the Carleton plantation, which was the largest horse ranch in the state before the war, and the Mallory place, where Scarlett and the others fleeing the Atlanta awake to find it burned to the ground.
