German Population 1939 - 69,623,000

post WW2 reports

7,293,000 dead 10.47% of the total population

the population would then be 62,330,000 if birth/death rates remain equal.

this stat is most likely way too high considering the fact lost probly left Germany as refugees etc.

Despite wartime losses, the population of Germany had risen by 9.3 million (16%) from 1939 to 1950. This was due to ethnic Germans from throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa moving to Germany after the war. The Allied Powers decided to move ethnic Germans to Germany as a post war policy; no Germans were to live east of the Oder River.
