The Vietnam War was a time of death. It came soon after the baby boom. Meaning, young men and fathers to families were the ones who went to Vietnam to fight. Letters were the only way of communication to the outside world. When soldiers came back, they sometimes had aftershock mental disabilities from the trauma of fighting in the war. Death was everywhere. One day you could be sending a letter home saying you'll be back soon, the next day you could be dead. The Vietcong used treacherous strategies with quick and fast attacks. They also set death traps around the camps of

Americans. The war was not an easy life. It left scars throughout every veteran mentally and physically.

South Vietnam was a countryside with US Military personnel LIVING IN IT. It was like living in 19th Century America, ON THE FRONTIER. No running water, No bathrooms, No toilets, No refrigerators, No micro waves, No stoves, No TV's, No theaters, No Swimming Pools, No cars, No Video Games (they didn't exist then), No CELL PHONES (they didn't exist then), No lap tops/computers (they didn't exist then), No GPS (they didn't exist then), No Fishing Licenses, No Hunting Licenses, No Air-Conditioning, No Football Games, No Baseball Games, No Soccor Games, No Golfing, No Bowling, and No Female Campanionship. Just eating trail dust from riding tanks, ACAV's (Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicles/M-113's). Or flying in helicopters and walking. Sleeping, eating, drinking foul water, fighting insects (mostly mosquitos), snakes, exchanging gunfire once in awhile, an explosion once an awhile, more sleeping, eating, trying to find a creek or river to clean up in.

Vietnam is from my opinion a tropical paradise of vast recources, and is one of the finest vacationing spots in southeast Asia, or the world.

Beautiful but the government over there is very strict many are suffering but they won't hurt you the people are really nice :D
