The Oresteia trilogy, written by Aeschylus [458 BC] consisted of three tragedies:
Agamemnon,
Choephorae and
Eumenides
That describe the return of Agamemnon from the ten year war of Troy and his death, the reunion of Orestis with Helectra and the revenge for the death of their father and finaly the end of the curse of the house of Atreides.
The last play in Aeschylus' Oresteia trilogy, "The Libation Bearers," features a scene in which a standard ancient Greek trial is depicted.
Aeschylus entered many competitions in his lifetime, and it is estimated that he wrote some 70 to 90 plays. Only seven tragedies have survived intact: The Persians, Seven against Thebes, The Suppliants, the trilogy known as The Oresteia, consisting of the three tragedies Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers and The Eumenides, and Prometheus Bound (whose authorship is disputed).
Both the Satyr Play and the Comedy. They were staged after the serious trilogy of tragedies to lighten up the audience and send them home in a lighter mood.
βουνό (vounό) ....is the MODERN (Demotic) Greek word for "mountain"; the classical (ANCIENT) Greek word is : όρος (oros) ...its few remaining persistences in demotic-Greek usage notably include the Hagion Oros, or "Holy Mountain" monastery in Chalkidike, Macedonia (the authentic, Greek one), as well as the towns of Argos Orestikon and Orestiada (in Macedonia and Thrace, respectively), named after Orestes (Gr: "Mountaineer"), son of Agamemnon, and hero of Aeschylus' "Oresteia" trilogy of plays dealing with the House of Atreus.
