What were Calvin and hobbes monsters?

[Edit]
Calvin has a vivid imagination. At night, he imagines that there are monsters under his bed, ready to devour him. There are several series of cartoons in which Calvin deals with these monsters and Waterson even has a long poem dedicated to one of the monsters.

In addition, Calvin makes "snow monsters" out of snowmen. One series had them coming to life and he had to spray them with water one freezing night in order to stop them.
