it was cheaper and easyer to have the castles the way they were,made out of stone , if like when the english ruled everything was made out of wood it would spoil and ruin.

There were Motte and Bailey castles and Stone keep castles (Stone castles). The Motte and Bailey castles were made out of wood and the Stone keep castles were made out of stone (obviously).
