Peasants did a lot of different things, such as farming and milling and such; however, the lowly peasants were either unemployed, or were what they called, 'cottars'. Cottars were the lowest of peasantry, and since peasants were really low... well, you can imagine. They were pretty much at rock bottom of the social ladder. They were swine-herds and prison guards, but they also did things like cleaning homes and other odd jobs.

Peasants had many sports and games available, but there is not enough recorded to be sure of what they usually were.

Among the games peasants might have played were checkers, backgammon, and dominoes. It is hard to know what might have been popular because of a lack of records.

From what I can gather, it appears a form of football, called medieval football, might have been the favorite sport.

Aside from sports and games, peasants liked to play music, sing, and dance, among other things.

A peasants life was not all work, they had time for recreation. At the most basic level this was time spent visiting other community members. Social gatherings, likely prominently featuring ale consumption, would have included storytelling, music, dance, and simple socializing.

Sports were enjoyed in good weather. Wrestling contests were popular. A rough ball game that may have been the forerunner of soccer was also played.

Games would have been played. Board Games are known from the period, and dice games would have been popular. Skills based games such as knife throwing contests would have also been common.

Religious services would have been available for peasants. In addition to spiritual devotion, these would have given people a chance to gather and interact.

Peasants were farmers, and they raised the food. They were also called upon to do other things as well, mostly unskilled labor of one type or another.
