In the Pacific, Japan wanted more control and attacked China. They decided they didn't want the U.S in the war so they surprise-attacked Pearl Harbor, which dragged the US into World War 2. *****Also don't forget, all this is made up of the Treaty Of Versailles*
The US was enraged with Japan for it's occupation of China and its plans to expand it's empire through Southeast Asia, so the US issued an embargo and cut off credit to Japan which left them with limited oil supplies to carry on it's war agenda. Japan knew that the US would eventually enter the war, so to cripple the Naval forces to allow their Empire to have the time to take over those regions, they attacked Pearl Harbor. This was where the majority of the fleet was. Fortunately, the aircraft carriers were at sea, so they were not able to do as much damage as they had hoped.
Because the Germans were enraged with the treaty that Germany had made with the Soviet Union they turned against them. Also, Adolf Hitler encouraged them of their power to rule the world.
