Women in Puritan New England made clothing for their families. They also cooked, and cleaned. Since a lot of them weren't educated, they couldn't read, but had to go to church to hear the Lord's word. Men in Puritan New England traditionally farmed, because their lives and their families lives depended on it. If they were not farmers, they probably fished or built shis, depending on their location. Few men were in the religious field (priests).
