Quakers first major colony was Pennsylvania, Quakers did settle in this place but not too long. Next colonies were West Jersey and North Carolina they settle for some time in North Carolina but a war arises between French and Quakers and the Quakers lost that battle.

North Carolina did not start on an upward economic swing immediately like fellow colony, Virginia did. Instead, it initially began with a poor population of indentured servants and slaves doing subsistence farming only. However, eventually it be came the third biggest colony for tobacco production.
