The outcome of the Arms race was the result of the treaties of SALT I and SALT II which in simple terms are the reduction of the weapons of mass destruction (WMD) the space race on the other hand it finish with the treaty of the construction International Space Station (ISS)
The Soviet Union was the first country to get a man (and a woman) into space.
In 1969, the Americans succeeded at being the first country to put a man on the moon (Neil Armstrong).
We now have an International Space Station, in which the US and the Soviets work together to develop new technology.
Increased atmospheric radiation and long-range health problems for people living near the test sites.
The results were the Soviets having more nukes in the long run, but after the Partial Test Ban Treaty, rapid disarmament began between the two nations.
The Russian Republic still has more nukes today, even after the New START treaty.
Far more bombs and missiles than either the US or USSR needed.
Miniaturized inexpensive electronics.

The SPACE RACE
Both countries felt that they were safe from attack if they were powerful enough to destroy each other.
détente. (defined: the easing of tensions or strained relations (especially between nations))
Detente eased the tension between the Soviet Union and the u.s. The reduction of nuclear arms enhanced national security for both nations. "thawing" period of the cold war.
During the arms race, all of the superpowers were focused on gaining more weapons instead of attacking one another.

Strategic Arms Reduction Treaties (SART)
Both involved rocketry using science captured from the defeated Nazi regime, and the space race was a way for the two superpowers to one-up each other in the eyes of the world. It may also be thought of as a show of force, as space flights were often launched with the same boosters used for nuclear warheads.
The Superpowers could reach agreements relating to arms control.
The arms race was an important part of the Cold War between America and Russia. The war led both countries to produce a stockpile of nuclear weapons which resulted in a great fear. Years later in 1986 the Reykjavik meeting took place between President Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, leader of the Soviet Union. This meeting was the start of peace and the signing of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
The SPACE RACE
It depends on the context. START was an acronym used for the phrase STrategic Arms Reduction Talks... a series of negotiations between the superpowers to agree to reduce the number of nuclear weapons held by both sides.
great britian and soviet union
As the active arms linkup they are then joined. After they separate after a while the space in between becomes an ocean basin. I hoped this helped:)
the two countries involved in the arms and the space race were the USSR (or United Soviet Socialist Republic) and the USA (united states of America). the space race and amrs race were only two facets of the geopolitical struggle between the two, called the cold war.
Both countries felt that they were safe from attack if they were powerful enough to destroy the other.
