What happens in the Legend of Korra?

The Legend of Korra is a spin off series of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Supposedly, it takes place 75 years after Avatar and star a young water bender named Korra who is the next Avatar. Obviously, that means Aang must have died and it has been presumed that the rest of the cast did as well, but their appearances in flashbacks have not been ruled out.

During the show (which is a mini series said to have only 12 episodes planned) Korra is searching for an air bender named Tenzin. But, how is this possible? Well, Tenzin is the son of Aang and Katara, thus he inherited Aang's air bending abilities. (Meaning there is hope for the Air Nomads).

So far the show is still in basic casting and production stages and is set to come out some time in 2011.

The Legend of Korra is the sequel to The Last Airbender, a story about the avatar, an airbender named Aang and his duty to stop the fire nation from ruling the world. The Legend of Korra focuses on the reincarnation of Aang into a hotheaded young girl born into the water tribe as the new avatar.

Korra, a Southern Water Tribe teenager is the new avatar.So far, she knows earth, fire and water. She must learn airbending from the only master in the world: Tenzin, Aang's son. The story stays only in a city metropolis called republic city. Korra must get over her airbending block while balancing the non-bender uprising.

It is the follow up for Avatar: the Last Airbender. It takes place seventy years after ATLA and focuses on the next avatar; a waterbender named Korra. Korra is 17 and she has mastered water earth and fire and needs to learn airbending from Aang and Katara's son Tenzin (sorry Zutara fans). Korra lives in the South Pole with Katara, and her polar bear dog Naga. Tenzin is supposed to move to the South Pole to teach her airbending but has to delay because he is a councilman of Republic City (a place where benders and non-benders live side by side, from all Nations). Korra joins him in Republic City where she discovers pro-bending (a popular sport that you will learn more about if you WATCH THE SHOW) and some anti-bender unrest, led by the mysterious man behind the mask Amon.
